Shamim Aktar - 7th Dan is the Shotokan JKA Academy's head club instructor . As a Child he was a fan of Bruce Lee,, he got his early inspiration in wanting to learn martial arts watching  Bruce Lee films and Japanese Samurai movies. He grew up in very tough & challenging times, his high School had a reputation of having some of the roughest, toughest bullies in the neighbourhood. So naturally he had to put up with a lot of tough competition every day of his school life & often ended up  trying to prove himself in front of the 'Big bullies' in order to survive his School days. He began to learn Martial arts to become physically strong,flexible, and to keep himself physically & mentally challenged in an extreme & challenging sport, as he always liked challenges in his life. He tried many  sports & combative martial arts at that time such as Boxing, Judo/jiu jitsu, Wing Chun,Jeet KuneDo,Taekwondo, etc.
Under the tutelage of the top JKA japanese karate masters who visited UK from Japan in the ealy 1970's,he never missed an opportunity to train with them on seminars and courses. Through his hard determined training, sheer hard work , & his passion & enthusiasm in learning from these masters that after a training course in 2005 with Sensei Tanaka 8th Dan,( one of the toughest JKA instructors and & world kumite champion) he decided to personally visit the  JKA headquarters in Japan and train at the JKA hombu dojo with the very best of the JKA masters for 8 continuous weeks.The training at the JKA honbu was very tough and demanding. Subsequently,over the next few decades through regular consistent training, including many trips to China, Japan,Malaysia, Singapore, to explore karate more in-depth & train with the world's top masters in Karate & other martial arts, he began to systematise his karate for his students in the UK . 
Currently Shamim Aktar is recognised as a 7th Dan,graded by a panel supervised by Sensei Oishi 9th Dan, Head master  from Japan, Sensei Naito 8th Dan JKA Italy, & Sensei Kawasoe 9th Dan JKAWF England. Being a modest & sincere practitioner of karate,he is still very much active and passionate in his karate and passing on his many decades of karate & martial arts experience to his dedicated & enthusistic students  at the Shotokan Karate JKA Academy, which he founded upon returning back from Japan in 2005. He feels this is his legacy &  contribution towards the positive human development of individuals through the art of Shotokan JKA Karate. As the ultimate goal of shotokan karate teachings is to develop to become a good human being in society. He tries to simplify all that he has learned in his over 55 years for his students with much patience & enthusiasm, in order to guide them correctly, through the art of karate & also make them the best human beings they can be through the study of JKA karate.  Shamim Aktar has been personally taught by the world's very best top JKA karate masters, These include names such as:
Master Kase 10th Dan, Nishiyama 10th Dan, Asai 9th Dan, Kanazawa 9th Dan,Shirai 8th Dan,Enoeda 8th Dan,Tanaka 8th Dan, Yahara 8th Dan,Kawasoe 9th Dan,and many others, these were the best of the best masters, (you couldn't get anyone better then these masters in the art of shotokan jka karate.)
